I'm excited to share that I'll be partnering with CHIC med spa based in Montreal.
Today’s newsletter will be short and sweet.
A lot has been happening on the back end—but I wanted to keep you in the loop.
I just hopped on the Spa Industry Association podcast (called Flock & Gather) with Allan Share yesterday.

In other news, I’m excited to share that I just partnered with CHIC Medispa based out of Montreal.
So i figured today I’ll share what they’re struggling with and how we’re going to approach their SEO strategy.
But first, let’s talk about:
How CHIC Found Me
Since I found out I was going on the Flock & Gather podcast, I started researching AI search, and synthesizing everything I learned.
And I’m happy I did that, because I’ve updated our process for optimizing med spas to become the #1 recommended med spa by Google and AI locally.
It’s actually coincidental that I got found by ChatGPT, because honestly, I feel like my own website’s SEO is okay at best—there’s a lot more to optimize.
But the proof is in the pudding folks.
There is sooo much trust built into AI recommendations.
Search traffic—whether from Google or ChatGPT—converts the best.
There’s power in showing up when your ideal clients are searching for you.
But let’s move onto CHIC and what they’re dealing with.
The Problem
CHIC dominates the Montreal market for laser hair removal. Have a look:
This is more or less as good as it gets.
But CHIC wants to start attracting injectable patients, and they struggle to rank for any of those services.
Have a look:
Green circles mean they’re in the top 3. Orange and red basically mean you’re invisible to searchers.
Now, I won’t lie. This one actually stumped me at first. Because their website SEO was doing a lot of things right.
It was only once I got plugged into their back end when I saw the problem…
Their name on Google, was CHIC Laser Center.
And all their directory listings were the same.
This might not seem like a big deal, but each one of these listings acts as a signal to Google and AI.
It’s telling them you specialize in Laser. Which is why they were ranking so well for that keyword.
But it was also hurting their other rankings.
Think about it…
Who wants to get Botox, or lip injections at a Laser Centre.
It’s like getting coffee at a gas station…
You know it’s not going to be top tier coffee.
AI knows this.
Google knows this.
People want to know if a business is trust worthy, reputable, and safe.
And this positioning was hurting them from ranking for injectables.
The Solution
People don’t want to get injectables at a laser centre. But people would definetly get laser hair removal AND injectables like botox at a med spa.
So we’re going to reposition the brand to being a med spa first.
We’re removing the “Laser Centre” from the name.
This means updating all the directory listings and adding new ones with the right info (aka signals).
That’s step one.
And it’s also where I’m gonna stop for today.
The Bottom Line
If you want to be recommended by Google and AI, realize that they’re scanning your directory listings.
Those listings act as signals telling them who you are, what services you offer, and where you’re located.
It’s part of your local PR, and part of a balanced SEO strategy.
